Fashion Jewellery and Costume Jewellery

Jewelry has been a part of our culture for hundreds of years and is still the trend of people who want to own beautiful and affordable jewelry to this day. Another common name for ornamental jewelry is fashion jewelry. However, there has been some debate as to whether “fashion jewelry” is an appropriate term to use and more appropriate to classify “real” or “high-end” jewelry. As a result, there is some confusion regarding the correct term to refer to cheap jewelry, the most common question being “Is there a difference between fashion jewelry and jewelry? buy Mexican pregnancy bolas at Spoo-Design

There are two lines of thinking on this. Some use the terms “jewelry” and “jewelry” interchangeably because they think they refer to the same product. It is said that jewelry such as necklaces, rings, brooches, earrings, and bracelets can be called fashion or luxury if it is made of cheap and non-precious materials. These items are usually made of base metals, gold or silver with acrylic, glass, plastic, synthetic or semi-precious stones. The “diamond” will be made of diamond or cubic zirconium and pearls can be made of glass or plastic. – Spoo-Design

As for which term is used it is purely a preference. A teen interested in fashion, for example, might prefer to say “fashion jewelry,” while a more mature woman might say “jewelry.” Anyway, they overcame the same thing.

However, there are those who are against and believe that fashion jewelry and jewelry are completely different. They say “jewelry” should only be used to refer to fake jewelry where the gold and diamonds are not real and so on. Whereas ‘fashion jewelry’ on the other hand is the kind of thing you see in fashion magazines like Vogue, Marie Claire and Tatler and can be ‘real’.

Types of Jewelry

This type of jewelry is often made by top designers such as Chanel, Marc Jacobs and Thomas Sabo. When fashion is at the forefront of fashion, it will be of much higher quality and you can use real gold, silver, diamonds, pearls, etc… It will also be more expensive.

Furthermore, these designers are so highly respected that their creations are often seen as setting the trend rather than following it. And in a few months, you’ll likely see copies of your designs pouring into Main Street. Of course silver will be replaced with the base metal and diamonds will be replaced with diamonds so that the last item looks the same as the original but for a fraction of the quality and a fraction of the price too!

What confuses this line of thinking, however, is that a bracelet made of a precious material would be classified as imitation jewellery, but would be compared to an identical style bracelet made of a non-precious material – but would be classified as imitation jewellery. An example would be the Pandora bracelet that you would buy from a jeweler and the Pandora bracelets that you could buy on Main Street. So you basically have two bracelets that look almost the same but have different ratings! – Read Our Blog

Is it any wonder that people are so confused? And to add to that, glossy fashion magazines don’t help much either because they don’t match the term they use or even with the wholesale jewelry suppliers themselves, who also reference their stock with both ratings.
