www.autofun.co.th—VinFast recently announced that its two new electric SUVs, the VF8 and VF9, have received over 45,000 orders, while the VinFast VF e34, which was launched earlier and started delivery in February this year, has over 25,000 pre-orders worldwide, bringing the total number of orders for the brand to over 70,000 units. This is truly impressive for a recently born Vietnamese electric car brand.
VinFast hopes to become one of the major players in the global electric vehicle market and in just a few years it has already started from scratch, launched several pure electric models and penetrated two important automotive markets, North America and Europe, accumulating a good number of orders.
In February this year, VinFast’s first model, the VF e34, was delivered to customers in Vietnam in a ceremony where the first 2,000 new vehicles were delivered. The car is a compact SUV with 110kW of power, 242Nm of torque and a range of 300km. 25,000 orders have been placed for the car since pre-orders were opened and officials say they will enter the international market.
VinFast has also launched two large electric SUVs this year – the VF8 and VF9 – for which bookings have been opened. Emmanuel Bret, vice president of the group, said that the VinFast VF 8 and VF 9 already have over 45,000 pre-orders worldwide. Although officials did not specify the number of orders for the two models in Europe, the figures in question should be significant, considering that they offer good value for money.
According to the information, the VinFast VF8 is positioned as a mid-sized SUV, with dimensions close to the Tesla Model Y and five seats. It is available in both single- and dual-motor versions, with a maximum power of 348 hp and 402 hp respectively, the latter with electric four-wheel drive, capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.5 seconds and a range of 504 km. The car is currently available for pre-order in France for 43,450 euros, for reference, the Tesla Model Y starts at 62,990 euros in France. 62,990 euros.
The VF 9 is VinFast’s flagship model, positioned as a mid-size SUV with three rows of seven seats. It is equipped with 402hp twin front and rear motors, 620Nm of torque, electric four-wheel drive, a fastest zero-hundred acceleration time of 6.5 seconds and a range of 550km in WLTP conditions, which is more powerful than the VF8. The car is currently available for pre-order in France for 58,650 euros. There are no plans for VinFast to enter the Chinese market yet.
